We're excited to welcome the Brooks Originals x STAPLE collaboration, exclusively in New Zealand at Drop Out Store.
STAPLE was founded by Jeff Staple, a designer, entrepreneur and cultural leader who is known for his works in Streetwear and Youth Culture. In 2004, Jeff rose to critical fame in the Streetwear world for his work with Nike SB, creating the infamous Pigeon SB Dunk - a lot of which now re-sell for well over $10,000.
Jeff, a runner and long-time fan of Brooks, has had a desire to work with Brooks for more than 10 years based on his admiration for the brand and product. His brand and iconography of the STAPLE Pigeon is iconic in the Streetwear world and symbolises unmatched authenticity and validity to the Cultural Pioneer.
The STAPLE x Cascadia 1 and Ghost Trail are the follow up collaboration with Jeff and will be brought to the market with rich storytelling and content. Symbolic features rooted around Jeff's home - New York City, are featured heavily throughout both silhouettes. The Cascadia 1 for example, features a scaled down block map of New York City with colours reminiscent of New York's boroughs. Another subtle feature is the type of Brooks logos used on both silhouettes - The Cascadia 1 uses Brooks' original logo, while the Ghost Trail uses Brooks' most current modern logo. Both of these logos are featured heavily on the designed insole of the shoes.
At Drop Out Store, we're proud to get our hands on a select size run of the Brooks Originals x STAPLE Cascadia 1 & Ghost Trail. Jeff symbolises a turning point in modern fashion, specifically as a pioneer of Asians & Asian Americans in fashion.
